Semi Athletic
Concept & Website
As a kid I was really into sports, but as I started playing music, sports took a back
seat… Semi Athletic was born. I chose to release music under a pseudonym because it stimulates an imediate word-association response in the audience,
acts as a creative catalyst for marketing and content creation, and allows for expansion and growth without being ties to an individual.

Social Media Strategy
The social media content goal was to bring awareness of the new Semi Athletic project and
engage followers with a call to action to promote organic growth through re-shares.
Having a call to action, such as the taste-maker 2.0 video, encouraged listeners to add my
songs to 387 individual Spotify playlists.

Visual Identity
The focus of my 2019 internship with Single Lock Records was on developing their visual identity. A problem with the original official Single Lock logo was scalability; when scaled down to the size found on vinyl sleeves and CD cases, the logo would distort and lose definition. A hand-drawn logo designed for a t-shirt was also often used, however, it was constrained to a single vector file that could not be easily adapted for other content.
My goal in working on the visual identity was to keep the charm and homemade touch of the hand-drawn logo while refining the rough edges to make it usable and scalable for any application.
New LogoOriginal Official LogoOriginal Hand-Drawn Logo
Continuing with the success of the hand-drawn approach, I developed a custom font based off of Futura PT, Single Lock Records’ choice for current branding. The process involved drawing each glyph by hand on paper, scanning and converting the drawings to vector files, and final formatting to create the font in Glyphs Mini by editing kerning, spacing, size, and more. An example of the font in use as well as a type specimen is shown below.
